The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the Interstate 84 Eastbound Exit 40 off-ramp to New Britain Avenue (Route 71) and the Exit 41, I-84 Eastbound on-ramp from South Main Street in West Hartford, will be closed intermittently at night between the hours of 8 PM and 5 AM, over the next six months, starting on July 5, 2022.
The ramps will be closed intermittently, as necessary to allow for the installation of drainage, milling of existing pavement, and the placement of new pavement with lane markings.

A detour for the I-84 EB Exit 40 Off-Ramp will be posted directing traffic to Exit 41, then onto South Main Street, then onto Route 71, and finally entering I-84 Eastbound at Exit 40.
A detour for the I-84 EB Exit 41 On-Ramp will be posted directing traffic westerly on Route 71, and finally entering I-84 Eastbound at Exit 40.
DOT Project No. 0155-0171 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $54M on March 2, 2020 and is scheduled to be completed May 30, 2023. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in West Hartford, CT.
